News Post Seven (NP7) Articles Summary (Article 1, Article 2)

Note:  some things are inconsistent between articles 1 and 2 (i.e they cut out things from one statement in one or have modified versions of statements in another… just to keep in mind).

·         News Post 7 say SKY-HI invited a female idol, A-san (17) to his house late at night multiple times.

o   The start time of these meetings varied, they frequently started at 8pm and she usually returned home before 11pm.

o   NP7 say there are instances where she was invited after 11pm and she responded positively.

o   They narrate one specific meeting in November 2025, where she got to his house alone and returned to her house alone around 10pm. She got off the train and walked to his house, then when she left she took the train which was a 30min trip then got off at the station closest to her house. Then she got into a car driven by her father. They attach blurred pictures of who is reportedly A that night.

·         NP7 received a statement from A herself:

o   She says she did go to SKY-HI’s house, but that the purpose of the meetings was always for advice and mentoring and that both of her parents had been aware of the meetings and given their consent in advance.

·         NP7 interviewed an acquaintance of A, X-san:

o   X-san says she would frequently boast about knowing SKY-HI and how she would frequently meet him.

o   X-san says she truly respects him and that they think she might have a crush on him.

o   X-san claims SKY-HI and A first got in touch in summer of 2023 through insta DMs then talked on LINE, and that she would show everyone around her their conversations.

o   X-san specifies A never stayed overnight at SKY-HI’s house and that he would always send her back to her house after their meetings.

o   X-san says A once posted a picture on BeReal in a very luxurious apartment, and X-san heard from someone else later that it was SKY-HI’s.

o   X-san says A really likes BMSG and wanted to join.

o   X-san says SKY-HI never got A any jobs.

o   X-san says they don’t think A’s parents are aware of the meetings.

·         NP7 interviewed A’s mother, who is the CEO of the (private) agency A is signed to:

o   Initially she didn’t want to answer questions, saying everything was a private matter.

o   When asked if she knew that her daughter was meeting with him, she says yes, but that she had told A many times to stop meeting with him because A was going to cause SKY-HI trouble, and that A had promised she wouldn’t anymore.

o   She says contact started about a year ago [December 2024].

o   She says A lives in a dorm in Tokyo, a short taxi ride away from SKY-HI’s apartment, and that she would always text her parents when she got home. A few times she texted them late (2, 3am). Sometimes she would not text them at all.  

o   Mother claims she didn’t know about the November 2025 meeting.

·         NP7 interviewed A’s father:

o   Initially, when asked if he knew about the meetings, he says he didn’t know.

o   He later says he did know, that she had permission, and that he would drive her to and from his house when it was too late at night.

·         NP7 say they obtained their LINE messages, but they don’t say how and don’t show any proof [i.e no screenshots or anything, just transcriptions with timestamps of messages sent and their alleged content].

o   They mention specific instances of messages sent about meetings in June 2024 and September 2024.

o   They also mention an exchange in December 2024 where she wishes him good luck before his birthday concert, and then they set up a meeting after.

o   They mention an instance (no context, date or timestamp) where he called a taxi for her to go home.

o   They also mention certain specific messages (without context, dates or timestamps) that say: “you’re so cute I could die (かわいすぎる死ぬ)”, “you’re so my type, it hurts (タイプすぎて辛いまである)”, “I love you (だぁいすき)”.

·         NP7 accuses him of breaking the youth protection ordinance in Tokyo, which states it’s illegal to keep minors under 18 out late at night without parental consent or a legitimate reason. They don’t accuse him of anything else nor claim anything else happened.

·         NP7 interviewed SKY-HI:

o   Q: Is it true that you sent A a DM in summer 2023 and that after that you began to meet frequently at your house?

§  A: It is true that they met at his home studio. He acknowledges that it was thoughtless and could be misleading.

o   Q: Why did you invite her after 11pm, considering the youth protection ordinance?

§  A: He acknowledges it was inappropriate and that he showed lack of consideration.

o   Q: Did you get permission from her parents?

§  A: Initially, all meetings had A’s mother present. As time progressed and she started coming alone, she was driven to and from his house by her father, so SKY-HI was under the impression that she had permission from her parents to be there.

o   Q: What about the messages you sent to A, like "you're my type"?

§  A: "I deeply regret that my communication with A was inappropriate, lacking awareness of my position and insufficient consideration for dealing with a minor”.

o   Q: We heard she was interested in joining BMSG

§  A: “When we first met, there were discussions of a possible collaboration but it did not come to fruition. Recently she talked to us [BMSG] about signing with the company but considering internal circumstances and her potential, we determined that other companies would be better for her and declined".

o   Q: As someone who produces young artists, do you consider this relationship appropriate?

§  A: "I can't say that it was appropriate. It is important for us to support our artists in technical and emotional aspects in order for them to grow and we must be extremely careful to ensure that there are no misunderstandings in this process. In addition, meeting with a minor in the middle of the night is something that should not be done so I deeply regret this action and I am reflecting on it."

• They take the matter seriously and measures will be taken.
• SKY-HI acknowledges meeting the girl at inappropriate times, that he assumed she had permission, and says it was reckless and thoughtless.

SKY-HI December 19 B-Town livestream (archived on the FC):

• He explained his connection to the girl's mother (who is the CEO of the agency the girl is signed to), and that he took an interest in the girl as an artist.
• He met up with her parents first and agreed to mentor her.
• He insisted everything was purely professional, he didn't have any kind of relationship (physical, emotional or otherwise) with the girl, and once again that everything was previously agreed to with her parents.

BMSG’s final statement on the matter (here).

• An investigation was conducted with the help of multiple external lawyers and other experts to determine whether there was any illegal activity.
  
• They conducted interviews with the relevant parties [SKY-HI, the girl, and her parents] and certain information was disclosed [submitted as evidence].
  
•  Experts have determined that no illegal activity was found nor was there any kind of foul play.
  
•  However, as a result of this situation, BMSG is establishing new policies:

o   New compliance monitoring system staffed by external experts that will monitor all employees, including SKY-HI as the CEO, as to ensure effective and objective judging of situations.

o   Establishing of a dedicated department to raise compliance awareness throughout the company.

o   New management structure (details to be announced in the next few months).

• SKY-HI apologizes once again for his lack of common sense and awareness and deeply regrets what happened. He will be devoting himself to strengthening governance within the company and to deeply reflect about his own attitude and perception.

SKY-HI December 25 B-Town livestream (archived on the FC):

• SKY-HI explains that very long interviews were conducted with the girl and himself.
• He says their phones were submitted as evidence to be audited by the experts.
• Experts concluded nothing illegal or inappropriate (including sexual misconduct of any kind) ever happened.
